Community | Volunteering at the 2012 Buddy Walk!
Now that the excitement is over and I seemed to have recovered from lots of hours in preparing
for the Buddy Walk, I wanted to take a moment and thank you for your participation in the 10th
Annual TVDSA Buddy Walk this year.
We had over 1850 registered walkers! That is over 400 more than last year! We raised more
money than ever before for 2013 TVDSA programs, activities, and events. Your efforts during
the raffle ticket sales, over doubled our sales from last year – this is remarkable! The Buddy
Walk is our primary fundraiser that allows us to supply information packets to new and
expecting parents, maintain a library full of information, age group social activities and holiday
parties.
All I heard was good feedback on our wonderful entertainment. Thank you for putting together
your group, taking a Saturday off from your busy schedules, and celebrating individuals with
Down syndrome with us this year. Your effort does not go unappreciated. I know from
experience, it takes practice to put together performances, and appreciate the time you
dedicated to this program.
Thank you again from the 300+ families with individuals with Down syndrome in the Treasure
Valley, from the Buddy Walk Committee, and most of all, from me!
